Growth Mindset Quote of the Month:
The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make a mistake. (Elbert Hubbard)

Dear Forest Avenue Families,
During the month of May, students in grades three and four will be taking the MCAS Test. This year the schedule has been reduced for both grade levels to one day of testing for English Language Arts and one day for Mathematics. Also new this year our students in Cohort D will be taking the test remotely. More information about MCAS Testing, including the testing schedule will be coming soon.

This time of year, we need to start thinking about the election of Home & School Officers for next fall. Each year parents are welcome to run for the offices of President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Voting will take place during our May Home & School Meeting, which is scheduled for Thursday, May 20th at 6:30 p.m. If you are interested in running for an office, please email me at by Monday, May 17th to get your name on the ballot. Write in candidates will also be welcomed. Listed in this newsletter you will find the job descriptions of the Board Members. I hope that you will consider becoming a part of this important organization. If you have any questions concerning Home & School elections please do not hesitate to contact me.

With the end of the school year quickly approaching, we are hard at work planning for some of the traditional end of the year activities and events. Even though things may look a little different due to the pandemic, we are exploring options for our students who are both in person and members of Cohort D to enjoy events such as Fun Day and Budding Scholars. As more information becomes available, we will be sure to update you. Until then, please be reminded that the last day of school for our Kindergarten students will be Monday, June 14th and Friday, June 18th for everyone else. The 18th will be a half day for students.

I hope that everyone has a safe and enjoyable spring season.
