Principal Update from Mr. Champigny

Forest Avenue Families:

On Friday, February 9th our Home & School Association will be sponsoring the 14th annual performance of Hudson’s Got Talent, Junior. This year’s show has thirty-seven third and fourth grade performers from all three elementary schools who will be sharing a variety of acts including singing, dancing, comedy and so much more. The show is taking place in the Auditorium at Hudson High School starting at 7:00 PM and admission is FREE. It promises to be a great night so be sure to mark your calendar and get there early so you can get a good seat.

On Monday, we will be holding our next school-wide assembly to launch the Leaves of Citizenship character trait of Empathy. Our Reading Team, along with some of our third grade students, have planned a school-wide read aloud to share our definition of empathy - I will understand that everyone has their own thoughts, feelings, and attitudes. I will accept that everyone’s thoughts, feelings, and attitudes may be different from mine. We then look forward to exploring the concept of empathy with our students and recognizing them when they are empathetic.

Wednesday, February 7th will be our next Walk & Bike to School Day (weather permitting). I would encourage you to get up early, dress for winter weather, and take advantage of this opportunity to get some fresh air and exercise by participating in this event. Also, please be reminded that during the month of February, we have an early dismissal day on Wednesday, February 14th and we will be closed for February Break on the 19th through 23rd.

I hope that everyone has a fabulous February!

Sincerely,

David Champigny
