Forest Avenue Families: It is with mixed emotions that I share with you that I will be retiring from my position as Principal of Forest Avenue School at the end ofthe 2025-2026 School Year. Having worked in public education for thirty-six years, I have been fortunate to have spent twenty-nine ofthose years here in Hudson, which has included the privilege of being Principal of Forest Avenue School for the past seventeen years. As such, though I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead, I will greatly miss being a member of the Hudson School Community. At the start of each new school year, I share with students that I have "the best job in the world because I get to be their principal". No statement could be more true. I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to be a part of the Hudson community for so many years and I am extremely grateful to have worked with such dedicated and talented educators, administrators, and staff. What a gift it has been to play a role in educating the students of Hudson and interacting with their caregivers and families. Thank you for supporting me over the years and for allowing to me be a part ofyour students' education. I look forward to finishing out the school year and am thankful for my remaining time in Hudson. In February, the search will begin for the next Principal of Forest Ave. As part of this process, families and staffwill be asked to give their input via surveys and forums. I encourage you to actively engage in this process and I look forward to welcoming the new Principal to our school community. Sincerely, David Champigny Principal Forest Avenue School
