Principal Update from Mr. Champigny

Forest Avenue Families:

After being away from Forest Avenue School for over five weeks recovering from back surgery, it is great to be back! It was so nice to return to such a warm welcome from our students and staff and I cannot thank everyone enough for all of your well wishes and kind thoughts! I need to give a big shout out to Mrs. Beach, Ms. Harmon, all of the members of the District Administration who pitched in during my absence, and our entire school staff. Forest Avenue and Hudson Public Schools is truly a wonder community, which I feel blessed to be a part of!

To kick off the month of April, students in grades three and four began ELA MCAS Testing. Each year, I am so impressed with the effort our students put forth during MCAS Testing. Our staff works hard to prepare them for this endeavor and all we ask of students is that they “try their best”. To that end, the students truly do give their all! I am proud of them for their positive attitude and their hard work. Due to some unanticipated late winter weather, fourth grade testing has been extended to next week with ELA Session #2 now taking place on Monday, April 8th.

During this month’s Home & School Meeting, we will be electing officers for the 2024 – 2025 School Year. As you know, our Home & School does an amazing job supporting our students and staff. They provide us with funding for school wide events, supplies, and field trips and they facilitate all of our family fun events that our students enjoy. If you are interested in running for a position, you can find more information about each of the positions available in this edition of the Falcon Focus.

Remember that school will be closed April 15th through the 19th for school vacation. I hope that everyone has a fabulous month of April and a safe and enjoyable break!

Sincerely,

David Champigny
